Business Solution Innovation Team
September 2026–present · Sydney, Australia

At Willoughby City Council, I’m helping modernise the GIS systems: reviewing legacy data, resolving coordinate reference inconsistencies and supporting the move from MapInfo to interoperable platforms. Map design is part of that work too, with changes to colours, symbols, labels and visual hierarchy so information is clear and consistent.

The Property Portfolio Dashboard involves working with around 10 Council teams to bring spatial, asset and operational data together for facility use and property management. Alongside it, a central Spatial Data Catalogue is being developed to make datasets easier to find and maintain, with FME workflows being explored for data integration.

Supervise a Spatial Analyst, introducing structured quality checks, map reviews and documentation standards to keep GIS work consistent across the team.

Education 🎓

National University of Singapore

Master of Science in Applied Geographic Information Systems

2025–2026

Built web mapping applications and automated spatial workflows, using spatial statistics, machine learning and visualisation to analyse large geospatial datasets. Applied these skills to live transit information, school accessibility and haze analysis, then developed and validated a research workflow for joining land elevation with bathymetry.

University of Melbourne

Bachelor of ScienceMajor in Spatial Systems

2021–2024

Studied how surveying, positioning, remote sensing and geographic information systems are used to measure and map the world. Research projects focused on vegetation properties and the global carbon cycle, using satellite imagery.

Exchange studies at the National University of Singapore and the University of Toronto.

01Terrain / Coastal systems

Land–sea elevation integration

Coastal flood studies need land and seabed elevations to line up at the shoreline. This project combines laser-surveyed land heights with seabed depths into a continuous 10 m surface along Singapore’s east coast.

02Accessibility / Urban networks

Commute network accessibility

Working families need school trips to fit around the journey to work. The project models home–school–work journeys by rail and on foot, then presents the accessibility results in ArcGIS Experience Builder.

03Transit / Environmental information

Live Transit Comfort Dashboard

Weather and crowding can change how comfortable a commute feels. This dashboard brings together station crowd information, nearby amenities, heat and rainfall across Singapore; my contribution was the rainfall data pipeline and comfort score.

04Remote sensing / Urban climate

Urban cooling & land-cover change

The study asks how greening after industrial decline can help cities become cooler than their surroundings. It examines Northeast China, with Shenyang as the main case study of vegetation recovery and urban cool-island formation.

05Environmental research / Spatial evidence

Singapore haze & public concern

Public concern about haze can rise at different times from official air-quality readings. This study compares regional fires, weather and pollution data with online searches, discussion and news to understand that gap.

Group project

Python, spatial modelling, time-series analysis

06Geodesy / Measurement systems

GNSS positioning with GipsyX

Tracking small ground movements needs more precise positioning than everyday navigation. GipsyX processes GNSS measurements from GPS and other navigation satellites into daily station positions, so changes can be followed over time.

Technical research
